Founder of the spa, Dr Senathi Fisha said, “We recently relaunched and now employ over 20 people in the spa and hair salon. I have a passion for this type of business as it creates long-term jobs for young people in Midrand.”
She explained that the eco-spa was inspired by her sensitivity to the environment and the desire to do business in a responsible way, while still reaching financial targets and providing much-needed jobs for the youth.
Fisha pointed out that if each business is invested in young people, a lot of the youth would have the means to earn a living. She stated that business owners have a role to play in equipping young people with skills they need to better their lives.
Young people who work at Mmathibedi are given training. One staff member who is grateful to be working at Mmathibedi is Muntu Zwane. She said, “I have been working for Mmathibedi for over two years now. The chance to work has boosted me financially and I have found another family.”
